Softball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield lost against Jo Byrns back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Springfield Yellow Jackets lost 12-6 to the Jo Byrns Red Devils. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Head made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Brooklyn Planer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Head wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Springfield lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Springfield now has a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Springfield will take on Daphne in a tournament on Monday. As for Jo Byrns, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stewarts Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
