Softball Recap: Westminster Christian's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Westminster Christian had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Lake Weir Hurricanes. Considering the Warriors have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mya Rodgers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Gigi Khoury was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Abi Barboza was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Westminster Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Westminster Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-6-1. As for Lake Weir, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Westminster Christian will be taking part in a tournament against George Jenkins at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Weir, they will take on Merritt Island in a tournament on Saturday.
