Softball Game Preview: Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars vs. Miss Porter's

For the first time this season, Choate Rosemary Hall School will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to challenge Miss Porter at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Choate Rosemary Hall School is headed out to face Miss Porter's after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Choate Rosemary Hall School came out on top against Greens Farms Academy by a score of 4-0 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Miss Porter's had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Ethel Walker 15-4 on Saturday.

Gwendolyn Religa was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Religa was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Emily Bevivino was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Anya Webb, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Everything went Choate Rosemary Hall School's way against Miss Porter's when the teams last played back in April of 2016, as Choate Rosemary Hall School made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Choate Rosemary Hall School since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
