Softball Recap: Evangel Christian Find Success

Evangel Christian won the last time they faced Heritage Christian Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Evangel Christian Lightning came out on top against the Heritage Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 14-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lightning.

Evangel Christian got a massive performance out of Jaydin Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Cranford, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Evangel Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .393 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Evangel Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Heritage Christian Academy, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Evangel Christian will square off against Bessemer Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Evangel Christian knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Bessemer Academy likes a good challenge. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will challenge Tuscaloosa Christian at 4:00 p.m. on March 6th.
