Softball Game Preview: East Marion Eagles vs. Resurrection Catholic Eagles

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, East Marion and Resurrection Catholic will really light up the scoreboard on Thursday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when East Marion and Salem meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. East Marion came up short against Salem, falling 17-11. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Resurrection Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 23-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Our Lady Academy. One positive for the Eagles, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Resurrection Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for East Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

East Marion took their win against Resurrection Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Does East Marion have another victory up their sleeve, or will Resurrection Catholic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
