Kearney is a perfect 4-0 against Fremont since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bearcats will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kearney has seven straight victories, Fremont has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Kearney is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Grand Island, who was ranked 16th at the time (Kearney was ranked eighth). The Bearcats had just enough and edged out the Islanders 2-1 on Saturday. That's two games straight that Kearney have won by just one goal.

Gordy Garner and Kaden Slaymaker scored both of Kearney's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Fremont was not quite Lincoln Northeast's equal in the second half on Saturday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Fremont have lost by just one goal.

Kearney's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Kearney took their victory against Fremont in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
