Basketball Recap: East Central Takes a Loss

East Central played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 70-29 loss at the hands of the Laurel Golden Tornadoes. The Hornets have struggled against the Golden Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Kayllis Walker was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds for Laurel. The dominant performance also gave Walker a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Gracelyn Carmichael, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points.

East Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Laurel, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Stone the next time they take the court. Laurel will head out to face Stone at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while East Central will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
