Recap: Eagle Pass Eagles vs. Southwest Legacy Titans
The Eagle Pass Eagles have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Southwest Legacy by a score of 46-37 on Friday. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Eagle Pass has scored all year.
When it comes to explaining why Southwest Legacy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Giovanni Aranda. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. Aranda scored a full 62.2% of Southwest Legacy's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of David Fuller, who scored five points along with three steals.
Southwest Legacy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Eagle Pass' victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Southwest Legacy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
Eagle Pass is on the road again on Friday and play against Cornerstone Christian at 1:30 p.m. on December 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Cornerstone Christian is ranked 757th, while Eagle Pass is ranked 760th). As for Southwest Legacy, they will head out on the road to face off against Tivy at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Tivy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 203 points over their last three matches.
