Basketball Recap: Kain Jurgajtis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Falls City over Brackett

Falls City lost against Brackett back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Falls City Beavers fell to the Brackett Tigers 58-54. The Beavers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Beavers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kain Jurgajtis, who posted eight points along with nine rebounds and six assists. Riley Ehrlich was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Falls City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests.

Falls City's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-8. As for Brackett, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Falls City will take on Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Falls City is facing Charlotte at the right time seeing as Charlotte is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Brackett, they will challenge Sabinal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brackett knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Sabinal likes a good challenge.
