Baseball Recap: Fleming Island Comes Up Short

Fleming Island managed to slip by Nease the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Fleming Island lost 13-3 to Nease on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Fleming Island saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Swartz, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Swartz also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Even though they lost, Fleming Island was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Fleming Island's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Nease, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.

Fleming Island wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Clay on the 14th. As for Nease, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-0 loss against Creekside on the 13th.
