Volleyball Recap: Overland Trailblazers vs. Cherokee Trail Cougars
Overland lost against Cherokee Trail back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trailblazers came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Overland was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.
Vincent Johnson paced Overland's offense, picking up 11 kills. Johnson got some help from Ethan Do and his 23 assists.
Cherokee Trail was led to victory by Hayden Parmelee and Chase Cabuag. Parmelee had 11 digs and two assists, while Cabuag hit 87.5% for seven kills and 30 assists and four digs. Those seven kills gave Cabuag a new career-high.
Overland's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Cherokee Trail, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.
Overland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Colorado Springs Christian on the 19th. As for Cherokee Trail, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Valor Christian on the 22nd.
