Basketball Recap: Cienega Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Isabel Elisea and Rane Bennett

Cienega lost against Buena two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cienega Bobcats fell 46-39 to the Buena Colts. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cienega's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rane Bennett, who posted five points and 11 steals, and Isabel Elisea, who earned ten points. Those 11 steals gave Bennett a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Cienega smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Cienega's record now sits at 11-16. As for Buena, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13.

As of now, neither Cienega nor Buena have any future games scheduled.
