Volleyball Recap: Altamont Longhorns vs. Union Cougars
Altamont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Union Cougars, falling 3-0. The Longhorns were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in September of 2015.
The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-11, 25-19.
Altamont's offense was headlined by Hazlie Bagley and Jada Miles, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Lauren Thacker and her 14 assists.
Leading Union to victory were Aliah Martin and Sariah White. Martin had nine digs and three aces, while White had 15 assists and four aces. White is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Braidee Lamb also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.
Altamont's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Union, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-9.
Altamont has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Monticello on the 26th. As for Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Carbon on the 30th.
