Laurel extends road losing streak to 11

Recap: Laurel Spartan vs. Union Area Scotties

The Laurel Spartan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-40 walloping at the hands of Union Area. Laurel was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-21.

Union Area was led to victory by Braylon Thomas and Lucas Stanley. Thomas scored 14 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Stanley scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Stanley has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last ten times he's played. Mike Gunn was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Laurel dropped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Union Area, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Laurel will be playing at home against South Side at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Area, they will head out on the road to take on Cornell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
