Basketball Recap: Lydia Mcgown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brady over Arapahoe

If Brady was riding high fresh off their 55-29 takedown of Sandhills Valley last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Brady Eagles came up short against the Arapahoe Warriors on Friday, falling 65-39. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Brady's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lydia Mcgown, who posted 13 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Ella Lydic, who earned ten points.

Arapahoe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Desi Farner, who put up 12 points and three steals. Those 12 points gave Farner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Suttyn Shafer, who had 14 points and five assists.

Brady's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Arapahoe, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.

Coming up, Brady will square off against Medicine Valley at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Arapahoe, they and Hitchcock County will face off at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
