Softball Preview: Paradise Panthers vs. Memorial Warriors
The Paradise Panthers will take on the Memorial Warriors in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Memorial will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Paradise extended their winning streak to three on Friday. Everything went the Panthers' way against Independence as they made off with a 15-1 win. Fans of the Panthers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Paradise let Celeste Mast and Gabriella Handley run wild. Mast went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Handley got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Handley a new career-high. Laura Siek was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Paradise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Independence only posted an OBP of .455.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Memorial). They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Hillcrest on Friday. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Casey Myers looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Caiden Coleman was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Sanaa Moses also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Paradise's record now sits at 3-0. As for Memorial, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
