6A District 4 recap October 29, 2013
Bartram Trail's David Coleman recorded the longest rushing play in 6A District 4 this season in his game against Matanzas last week. Coleman ran for 89 yards on the play and finished with 122 on the day as his team beat the Pirates.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, St. Augustine beat Creekside 44-8. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Yellowjackets.
Bartram Trail's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. PJ Blazejowski threw for 197 and 2 touchdowns and Romello Bentley had 98 yards receiving. On the ground Coleman chipped in 122 yards. Karl Harris helped Bartram Trail's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 86 yards.
Blazejowski put up the best numbers through the air as Darrell Sutherland's team topped Matanzas. Blazejowski's favorite target this week was Bentley, who caught 5 passes for 98 yards.
Bartram Trail's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bears feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Blazejowski has thrown for 1,250 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Bentley has 32 catches for 438 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Nease takes on the Bears. At the moment, the Panthers are in second, while Bartram Trail is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Nease and the Bears face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Shane Mattews' team comes in having scored 83 this season, while Bartram Trail has scored 255. The Panthers scored 54 points last week as they topped Arlington Country Day.
The Bears were the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in 6A District 4. Earlier in the week, Bartram Trail defeated Jeff Nettles' team 41-14.
