Basketball Recap: Northwest Christian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Northwest Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 57-44 victory over the Crosspoint Christian Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-42 on January 2nd.

Northwest Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Babber, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists. The contest was Babber's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Jack Vahey was another key player, going 7 of 8 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Babber wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Northwest Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northwest Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points per game. As for Crosspoint Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Northwest Christian will venture away from home to challenge Evergreen Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crosspoint Christian, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Crosspoint Christian Wildcats duke it out with the Sound Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sound Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Crosspoint Christian likes a good challenge.
