Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Lions vs. Santiam Christian Eagles

The Jefferson Lions will head out to square off against the Santiam Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson will be strutting in after a victory while Santiam Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Jefferson will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Blanchet Catholic, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Jefferson blew past Blanchet Catholic 53-25 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Santiam Christian came up short against Willamina on Wednesday and fell 31-18. The Eagles have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Jefferson pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Santiam Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Jefferson against Santiam Christian in their previous matchup back in February, as the team secured a 72-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
