Baseball Recap: Newton Takes a Loss

Newton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-1 to the Derby Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-7 loss on Tuesday.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Derby, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Newton by a score of 11-7 later that day.
