Softball Recap: Lincoln Drops Highest Score of Season Against John Carroll Catholic

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln). They had just enough and edged out the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers 9-8. While the Golden Bears didn't have the best season last year (they finished 14-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The team relied heavily on Kinsley Crow, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Pruitt, who scored a run.

Lincoln was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for John Carroll Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Lincoln and John Carroll Catholic will both be playing Homewood the next time they take the field. Lincoln will host Homewood at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while John Carroll Catholic will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
