Basketball Recap: Houston Adventist Academy Comes Up Short

If Houston Adventist Academy was riding high fresh off their 66-36 takedown of Second Baptist University-Model last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Houston Adventist Academy came up short against the Rosehill Christian Eagles on Tuesday, falling 64-43. The contest marked Houston Adventist Academy's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Houston Adventist Academy still got an impressive performance from Ottis Crudup, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds. The matchup was Crudup's 29th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rupert Cassanova, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

Rosehill Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Gomez, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave Gomez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Hanson, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Houston Adventist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Rosehill Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

The Awty International knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Rosehill Christian likes a good challenge.
