Basketball Game Preview: Immokalee Indians vs. Golden Gate Titans

Immokalee and Golden Gate are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Immokalee Indians will welcome the Golden Gate Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Immokalee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Immokalee will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Naples, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Immokalee walked away with a 75-67 victory over Naples on Tuesday.

Immokalee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jose Marquez out in front who went 6 for 8 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Marshon Jackson, who went 5 of 6 en route to 17 points and five assists.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Golden Gate). They blew past Palmetto Ridge 74-54 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Titans have posted since November 27, 2024.

Golden Gate's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Immokalee, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Immokalee strolled past Golden Gate when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 62-48. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Golden Gate's Sam Powell, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Immokalee still be able to contain Powell? There's only one way to find out.
