Softball Recap: James Monroe Takes a Loss

James Monroe and Caroline pushed the score to 23-0 the last time they played Caroline, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-0 back in April.

James Monroe's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Caroline, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. James Monroe is set to square off against their familiar foe Courtland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Caroline will take on rival Eastern View at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
