Football Preview: Filer Wildcats vs. Wood River Wolverines        
        
		
             The Filer Wildcats will head out to  square off against the Wood River Wolverines  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Filer is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
 Having struggled with 11  defeats in a row dating back to last season, Filer finally turned things around against Parma  on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Panthers 60-0 at home.
 A big part of the  victory came down to the chemistry between  Tristan Rea and his top target  Talyn Weaver. Rea threw for 108 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes while  Weaver picked up 46 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave  Rea a new career-high in  rushing yards.
 Filer's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged five passes before it was all said and done.  Chase Madsen led the group effort, picking up three of those  interceptions all by himself.
 Meanwhile, Wood River took a  blow against Ridgevue last Friday, falling  40-7. The Wolverines have now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Filer's win  ended  a  five-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 1-2. As for Wood River, they now also have a losing record at 1-2.
 Filer couldn't quite finish off Wood River in their previous matchup  back in September of 2023 and fell  28-26. Thankfully for Filer,  Kyle Ipsen (who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 59 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
