Skyline extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Zayden Burks. The Hawks came out on top against the Meridian Mustangs by a score of 43-33 on Friday thanks in part to Burks, who rushed for 335 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.4 yards per carry. He is becoming a predictor of Skyline's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Skyline, racking up 21 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Burks, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

When it comes to explaining why Meridian lost, don't look at Oumar Thompson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 191 yards and one score while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Another rusher making a difference was Alex Jacobson, who rushed for 51 yards and one touchdown.

Skyline's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Meridian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Skyline will take on Warren County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Meridian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
