Soccer Game Preview: Eastern Montgomery vs. Giles

The Eastern Montgomery Mustangs will take on the Giles Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Montgomery will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Giles better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Eastern Montgomery's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Eastern Montgomery really gets things going. The Mustangs never let Narrows get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Give Eastern Montgomery's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last game, Giles made sure to put some goals up on the board against Grayson County on Monday. They beat the Blue Devils by a goal, winning 4-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Giles' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Eastern Montgomery pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Giles, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
