League recap: Grooms breaks off league-leading run for Forman

Hudson Valley recap Sept. 26, 2012

Forman's Isaiah Grooms recorded the longest rushing play in Hudson Valley this season in his game against Horace Mann last week. Grooms' team fell to the Lions as he sprinted for 60 yards on the play and finished with 347 in all.

Sacred Heart moved up to 68 from 536 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league.

Christian Wiles-Lafayette made the biggest impact on defense this week as Forman lost to Horace Mann. The 6-foot-1 senior forced one fumble and recorded one fumble.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when New York Military Academy takes on the Lions. The Knights are in sixth place, while Horace Mann is in fourth place.

Dwight-Englewood was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to first in Hudson Valley. The Bulldogs beat Harvey 25-8 earlier in the week.
