Basketball Recap: Chambers Academy Takes a Loss

Chambers Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Calvary Christian Knights. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-50 back in November of 2024.

Calvary Christian found their leader in sophomore Charleigh Spann, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Chambers Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Calvary Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Chambers Academy and Calvary Christian's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Chambers Academy and Springwood (who has only given up 28.36 points per game) will meet at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Meanwhile, Calvary Christian will face off against Ballard Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, a team that's only allowed 28.25 points per game.
