Baseball Game Preview: Katy Taylor Mustangs vs. Jordan Warriors

The Katy Taylor Mustangs will square off against the Jordan Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Katy Taylor is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Tompkins just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Jordan entered their tilt with Paetow on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Panthers. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Owen Wendt tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Cole Keppler was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one triple. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackie Bryant, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Jordan hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paetow struck out ten times.

Katy Taylor's loss dropped their record down to 19-11-1. As for Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 19-11-1.

Katy Taylor might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Jordan in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
