Basketball Recap: McArthur Comes Up Short

McArthur lost against Nova back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The McArthur Mustangs were beaten by the Nova Titans 63-16. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-8.

Soerayah Pradel was McArthur's leading scorer, having posted five points. Christie Chicoye held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

It was another big night for Jaelynn Housey, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals for Nova. Housey has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kimora Exum, who posted nine points and six steals.

With the defeat, McArthur broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. As for Nova, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

McArthur wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-23 victory against Boyd Anderson on the 11th. As for Nova, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-58 loss against Northeast on the 11th.
