Football Game Preview: Cactus Cobras vs. West Point Dragons + How To Watch

The Cactus Cobras will head out on the road to face off against the West Point Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cactus will be strutting in after a victory while West Point will be coming in after a defeat.

Cactus' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 70-0 win over Willow Canyon. That 70 point margin sets a new team best for the Cobras this season.

Cactus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robert Bell led the charge by picking up 133 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Bell has become a key player for the Cobras: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 receiving yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Myron Lee was another key player, rushing for 84 yards and one TD.

Cactus was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Willow Canyon only rushed for 68.

Cactus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daylen Moore and Cole Douglas.

Meanwhile, West Point came up short against Sunrise Mountain on Friday and fell 27-14. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cactus is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 8.38 yards per carry in those games compared to only 2.8 in the others. As for West Point, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Everything came up roses for Cactus against West Point when the teams last played back in September of 2021, as the team secured a 56-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cobras since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
