Volleyball Recap: Caliche Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Caliche came into Saturday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Springfield Longhorns by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. This was payback for the Buffaloes, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Caliche was: they took both sets by at least 13 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-8.

Ryann Svoboda paced Caliche's offense, picking up eight kills. Svoboda got some help from Lily Armstrong and her 19 assists.

Caliche's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Springfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Caliche didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Vanguard Classical East on the 18th. As for Springfield, they will face off against Las Animas at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
