Shelbyville Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They skirted past the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers 57-55. This was a revenge game for the Golden Eagles: when they faced off against the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers back in January, they had to take a 65-48 loss.

Warren County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Turner, who went 6 of 9 en route to 18 points. Deashawn Adams was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 13 points and five boards.

Shelbyville Central pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Warren County, the loss snapped their winning streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 17-4 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles take on the Lincoln County Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelbyville Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Lincoln County likes a good challenge. As for Warren County, they will challenge Coffee County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
