Fort Wayne Canterbury hasn't had much luck against Fort Wayne Snider recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will welcome the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Fort Wayne Canterbury and Lakewood Park Christian, and Fort Wayne Canterbury kept the tradition alive. The Cavaliers walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Panthers on Monday.

Ben Hardin and Reed Hayes made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Hardin pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hayes tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Hardin went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Hayes got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That stolen base was Hardin's first of the season.
In other batting news, Andrew Maloblocki was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jack Landgraf, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Canterbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matches.
While Fort Wayne Snider didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers by a score of 5-1 on Tuesday.
Landen Fry and Jaden Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Fry went 1-for-3 with three RBI, while Garcia went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Snider's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Fort Wayne Canterbury has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Snider struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fort Wayne Canterbury might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Fort Wayne Snider when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
