Baseball Game Preview: Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack vs. Crestwood Comets

The Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack will challenge the Crestwood Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Crestwood took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Wilkes-Barre, who comes in off a win.

Wilkes-Barre's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Berwick 15-0. The win continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Nathan Fritz was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Koleton Davies, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Wilkes-Barre always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Crestwood and Wyoming Valley West, and Wyoming Valley West kept the tradition alive. The Comets fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5 on Thursday.

Crestwood now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Wilkes-Barre, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
