Softball Recap: Montville Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fitch, Montville was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the St. Bernard Saints by a score of 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Saints two weeks ago, they had to take a 12-0 loss.

Abby Daniewicz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Jainna Lesniewski was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Payton Jones, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Montville's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for St. Bernard, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-11.

As of now, neither Montville nor the Saints have any future games scheduled.
