Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances in games played from last Friday through Monday (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Aldretti Came Up Big in Walsenburg's 46-0 Victory

Starting off the list is Walsenburg's Giovanni Aldretti, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Aldretti rushed for 287 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 15.9 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.

This season, Aldretti has averaged 17.3 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 68.14 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 200.71 rushing yards.

Anthony Sandoval Dazzles in Hoehne Victory

Anthony Sandoval was instrumental in extending Hoehne's winning streak to three on Friday. Sandoval did his part (and then some), rushing for 147 yards and three touchdowns for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 147 rushing yards.

Sandoval might have his next game, a road matchup with Custer County, circled on his calendar. Sandoval rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries the last time he and the Bobcats duked it out back in October of 2023.

Taylor Torres Makes It Two for Walsenburg

The second Walsenburg player making an appearance here is Taylor Torres, and for good reason. He picked up 54 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making 20 total tackles and defending a pass.

For the season, Torres has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 72.3 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he had one rushing touchdown.

Jake Magninat Delivers Best Performance of Season

Jake Magninat produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Hoehne to the win on Friday. Magninat rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 119 yards while completing 75% of his passes.

For the year, Magninat has averaged 80.9 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after seven games last season, he had five rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to eight.

Bryce Froman Turns in Season-Best Effort

Sadly, Bryce Froman posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Fowler over Hoehne on Friday. Froman picked up 78 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Fowler dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Froman and Fowler will challenge Walsenburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
