Basketball Recap: Berea Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Berea entered their tilt with Easley on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Easley Green Wave by a score of 49-40. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 65-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Easley's loss came despite strong showings from Kimbel Leach and Kate Kelley. Leach almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while Kelley posted 12 points and five steals. Kelley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Berea's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2. As for Easley, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Berea and Southside will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Easley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 33-25 win against Pickens on the 13th.
