Baseball Game Preview: Mark Twain Tigers vs. Montgomery County Wildcats

Mark Twain hasn't had much luck against Montgomery County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Mark Twain's offense. They lost 15-0 to Canton on Tuesday.

Mark Twain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landen Armour, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. Armour has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery County). They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Silex on Monday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Mark Twain's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Montgomery County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Mark Twain suffered a grim 23-2 defeat to Montgomery County when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
