The Parkland Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Whitehall Zephyrs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Parkland made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Quakertown, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Parkland put the hurt on Quakertown with a sharp 17-1 win on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the game before.

Chase Brunner made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Parkland got a massive performance out of Will Dobil, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs Dobil has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Peyton Scherff, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Parkland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quakertown only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Whitehall had just enough and edged out Wyoming Valley West 9-7 on Saturday. The Zephyrs haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Nik Christman looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Whitehall let Seth Hoderewski and Tyler Reichenbach run wild. Hoderewski scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Reichenbach scored a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Sanders, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
Whitehall now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Parkland, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Parkland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .382. However, it's not like Whitehall struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Parkland came up short against Whitehall when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 7-2. Can Parkland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
