Softball Recap: Patton Takes a Loss

If Patton was feeling good fresh off their 26-11 takedown of Mitchell last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Patton fell 13-10 to the Brevard Blue Devils on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Kara Redwine was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Alex Maines was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Patton's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Brevard, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Brevard wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-7 defeat against Franklin on the 26th. Hopefully Patton payed attention to Brevard's contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Brevard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
