Football Game Preview: Asheville Cougars vs. T.C. Roberson Rams + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Asheville will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will welcome the T.C. Roberson Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Asheville has given up an average of 36.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Asheville is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 39 points on September 12th, they were much more limited against Watauga on Friday. They took a blow against the Pioneers, falling 49-7. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask T.C. Roberson). They breezed past South Caldwell to the tune of 40-6 last Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-6.

The match pitted two dominant s against one another in Tariq Sibert and JP Smith. Sibert had a great game and picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (6.0 for loss). Meanwhile, Smith did his best for the losing side, making 14 total tackles.

T.C. Roberson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Kevion Holloway led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Chanten Wynn got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Asheville now has a losing record of 2-3. As for T.C. Roberson, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Everything came up roses for Asheville against T.C. Roberson in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-15 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
