Baseball Recap: Redmond Has No Trouble Against Lynnwood

The Redmond Mustangs got the win against the Lynnwood Royals on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Jay Heath made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Heath was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hiroshi Johnson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Chase Lawson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Redmond was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Redmond's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Lynnwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Redmond will welcome Bellevue at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lynnwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edmonds-Woodway at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
