Baseball Recap: Plant Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Plant ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Osceola Warriors, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 8, 2025.

Plant gave KOLT PATTERSON the start and clearly made the right call: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. PATTERSON is becoming a predictor of the Panthers' success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 4-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). JOEL SALINES relieved him and did a solid job, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Jordan Olivia was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Plant and bumps their season record up to 8-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Osceola, they moved to 12-2 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plant will take on Jefferson in a tournament on Saturday. As for Osceola, they will be playing at home against Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
