Basketball Recap: Gregory Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Regan Graesser and Dani Vanderwerff

Gregory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kimball/White Lake Wildkats. The matchup was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but the Gorillas couldn't quite close it out.

Dani Vanderwerff and Regan Graesser certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Vanderwerff went 7 of 11 on her way to 18 points and six steals, while Graesser went 8 for 16 en route to 18 points. That was a full 39.1% of Gregory's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Gregory's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Kimball/White Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Gregory will face off against Chamberlain at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Kimball/White Lake has already played their next game (against Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
