Volleyball Recap: South Baldwin Christian Academy Comes Up Short

South Baldwin Christian Academy entered their matchup against Lighthouse Baptist Academy on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Knights fell just short of the Ambassadors by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ambassadors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Friday.

South Baldwin Christian Academy started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 24-26, 25-16, 25-23, 16-14.

Despite the defeat, South Baldwin Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Myah Molina had 25 digs and nine aces. Those nine aces set a new season-high mark for Molina.

South Baldwin Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Lighthouse Baptist Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, South Baldwin Christian Academy will welcome Central Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lighthouse Baptist Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pensacola Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th.
