Volleyball Recap: Celina Comes Up Short

Celina managed to slip by Ponder the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bobcats lost 3-0 to the Lions on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bobcats have suffered since November 19, 2024.

While Celina ultimately came up short, they really made Ponder work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-11, 27-25.

Selah Nickel paced Celina's offense, picking up eight kills. Nickel got some help from Alex Farrow and her 12 assists. Finally, Shaylee Stevens kept Celina's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Celina is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8. As for Ponder, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Celina has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Plano West on the 21st. As for Ponder, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against West on the 21st.
