Basketball Recap: Quitman County Hornets vs. Randolph-Clay Red Devils
Quitman County lost against Randolph-Clay last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Quitman County Hornets lost 75-51 to the Randolph-Clay Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 516th, while the Red Devils are ranked 121st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Randolph-Clay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyrion Smith, who went 5 for 8 to rack up 11 points and six boards. Thanks to that strong game, Smith now owns an excellent 45.4% field goal percentage. Jes'Us Daniels was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 12 points.
Quitman County has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for Randolph-Clay, their win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-2.
