El Paso skates past Jefferson with ease

The El Paso Tigers can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-22 victory over Jefferson on the road. Given El Paso's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while Jefferson is ranked 1445th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

El Paso's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalia Thomas led the charge by dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amaris Ambriz, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and five assists.

El Paso's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Jefferson, they are on a 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-21.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Paso will challenge Burges at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burges is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 14 games. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to face off against Andress at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andress is on a four-game streak of home losses, Jefferson a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
